Company History

1959

At the start

January 1959

Leafield Environmental was formerly known as Linpac Environmental, a part of the LINPAC Group, the UK-based international plastic packaging manufacturer. Formed in the UK in 1959 as Lincolnshire Packaging, LINPAC Group Limited became an international market leader in primary food packaging and returnable crates/containers for supply chain management.

1985

About the Corsham site

January 1985

In 1985 the Linpac Group acquired two separate rotational moulding operations, operating independently within the Linpac Rotational Mouldings Division, one in Birmingham and the other in Corsham. The former made tanks, litterbins (the Octaplus range) and wheeled containers and the latter produced the distinctive ‘ballbarrow’ for Hozelock as well as hygiene and medical aids and materials handling products. Both operations supplied a wide range of trade mouldings.

1995

Relocating in Corsham

January 1995

In 1995 the Corsham operation moved into a new purpose-built £2 million manufacturing facility in order to service existing trade moulding customers and interdivisional demand for rotational moulding. The Birmingham operation was renamed Linpac Environmental to better reflect its business of producing and selling compost bins, litter bins and traffic bollards.

1999

Expanding in Corsham

January 1999

1999 saw the Linpac Environmental production transferred to the Corsham facility, still operating as the Linpac Rotational Mouldings Division while the Linpac Environmental name continued for a while as the commercial arm for environmental products. Subsequently the two entities were merged under the Linpac Environmental banner.

2010

Introducing Leafield Environmental

January 2010

In 2010 the Company name was changed to Leafield Environmental when London private equity firm Chamonix acquired the business, along with the Paxton brand of agricultural and materials handling products. The Company continues to utilise cutting edge design and manufacturing technology to meet and exceed the expectations of its customers.
